Since part of being a life-long learner is knowing how one best learns and being self-motivated to do so, activities will be provided or suggested for those students who need additional strategies in order to learn the material.

Since Sustained Silent Reading is an effective component of improving literacy, students will choose what to read after they have completed their required assignments. A variety of materials will be provided, such as short stories and novels in various genres; Students may bring their own materials to read, such as books and magazines.
