Columbia-Montour AVTS
Welcome to Mrs. Snyder's home page. This site will be used to share information about my classes, as well as post homework assignments from time to time.
This course integrates fundamentals of biology and chemistry. It incorporates activities related to issues of society, work, and home. The student completes activities, investigates role models and occupational settings that utilize the concepts. ABC I addresses current issues, develops higher-level thinking skills, teaches students to use, not just recite principles. We will cover one unit per marking period. The four units are: Ecology, Natural Resources, Plant Growth and Reproduction, and Space Science. The student explores the environment in his/her own backyard with many pertinent labs related to life experiences. There is an outdoor area for lab work and observations related to the various units. The students will learn to use basic taxonomy keys to become familar with plants and animals found in Pennsylvania. The student is expected to complete and perform scientific data collecting in the classroom and in the field alike.
