    Career Development

A Comprehensive Career Program is integrated into the English Curriculum that meets the National Career Development Competencies for high school students. Competencies and indicators are organized around three career development areas: Self-Knowledge, Educational and Occupational Exploration and Career Planning. Using the Choices Program students electronically engage in various assessments and career activities and compile their results on a Career Activity Sheet, prepare a written report and give an oral presentation on a career of interest. The opportunity to explore four vocational areas in ninth grade also contributes to their overall career decision making, development and performance. A final requirement is the Parent Conference to create an Individual Career Plan for every student in the 9th grade. Plans are revised throughout the following years.
